Widely used in textile dyeing, printing and metal surface water treatment. It is also used as a chelating agent, a steel surface cleaning agent, a cleaning agent for glass bottles, and as a chelating agent for cement, plating and alumina dyeing industries. It is a white colorless powder that is very soluble in water.
Application
Sodium Gluconate can be used as an admixture in concrete, its fuctions in concrete are as retarder, it can significantly delay the setting time of concrete;
Sodium Gluconate can be used as special cleaning agent for glass bottles;
Sodium Gluconate can be used as cleaning agent for steel surface;
It is a green multifunctional water treatment chemical.
Because sodium gluconate has excellent corrosion and scale inhibition effects, it is widely used as a water quality stabilizer, such as as a treatment agent for circulating cooling water systems of petrochemical enterprises, low-pressure boilers, and internal combustion engine cooling water systems. Because it has the following advantages:
(1) Has obvious coordination effect
It is suitable for silicon, phosphorus, tungsten, nitrite and other formulas. Due to the coordination effect, the corrosion inhibition effect is greatly improved.
(2) The corrosion inhibition rate increases as the temperature increases
Generally, the corrosion inhibition rate of corrosion inhibitors decreases as the temperature increases, or even loses its effect completely. But sodium gluconate is just the opposite. The corrosion inhibition rate increases with temperature within a certain range. For example, in tests on carbon steel and other materials, when the temperature increased from 77°C to 120°C, the buffering rate increased by more than 5% on average. Therefore, the unique properties of sodium gluconate are ideal for use as corrosion inhibitors in systems with higher temperatures or systems that change temperature from low to high temperatures.
(3) Strong anti-scaling ability
It has strong complexing ability for calcium, magnesium, and iron salts, so it has strong scale inhibition ability, especially excellent chelating effect on Fe3+, and even works within the full PH range.
(4) Pollution elimination
Using sodium gluconate as a corrosion and scale inhibitor for circulating cooling water can eliminate pollution. This is an advantage that cannot be matched by other corrosion and scale inhibitors currently used.
